In our story today we see through the eyes of 10-year-old Benjamin Giroux, that being odd is different, and different is a good thing. This is what he hoped to express in his poem he wrote in the fifth grade when he was only 10 and shared what it is like to live with autism. Now that poem has become the book we will read today. Let’s enjoy the magic of reading as we read together, “I am Odd, I am New” written by Benjamin Giroux and illustrated by award winning
illustrator Roz MacLean.
